The practice of resurfacing existing concrete surfaces, is proliferating throughout the world. The reason is simple. Technological advancements makes it possible apply thin overlays over existing concrete surfaces, in a multitude of finishes, that is harder, and more durable then the concrete underneath.
Most overlays are from 1/16" to 3/8" total thickness. The range of applications consist of sprayed or squeegee applied cementitious coatings, to what is commonly referred to as 1/4" stamping finishes. Additionally, due to a patent-pending application, a colored micro-thin polymer enhanced cement coating can be applied to a prepared concrete surface, stained, and sealed. (See inset photo).
Due to the growing interests and application of these systems, the Concrete Resurfacing Network was created in order to allow both applicators and consumers to obtain valid information on the application procedures, the array of choices and their respective limitations, as well as the average costs and longevity factors. Additionally, the web site offers locator services for qualified applicators throughout the US.
